Step
1: Load MP3 / CUE file |
|
Click the
button
to select the MP3 or CUE file you'd like to split, or just simply
drag & drop the file to MP3 Splitter window.
MP3 Splitter supports to load track
information from a CUE file
as well as load a MP3 file directly. If
loaded successfully, the information (such as title,
artist, album, length) of the MP3 will be
shown in MP3 information box.
For CUE file, all tracks will be automatically added in the
split list as well as track information (title, performer).

Step
2: Add Time Points to Split List |
|
Now, you need to add
all time points you'd like to split at. Click 'Insert Split'
button to add the time value in the left side box as split points
one by one. You can leverage
both the slider bar and the playback functions (play, pause, fast
forward) to
quickly
get to the time points you'd like to cut at.

If you want to split to equal
segments, please refer "Split
to Equal Segments"
Tips:
-
You can enlarge the dialog window to
view more information of the tracks you've added in the split list on the
screen at one time, and to be could be much convenient to move the slider bar.
- You can save your current work at any time to a
CUE
file and load it back later (please note that the overlap setting of
tracks can not be saved to the CUE file).

3:
Split Now |
|
If you
just want to split some of the tracks in the the split list, please
uncheck the tracks you don't want.
Click ''Start Split' button and choose
the target folder. Once completed, all the split files will be saved
in the folder you just selected.

Import/Export track information from a CUE (*.cue) file |
|
|
MP3 Splitter is
able to import and export track information directly from CUE
(*.cue) file:
Import track information -
you can import the tracks to split from CUE (*.cue) file. Click
'Add' button, select the file to import. Once done, the
tracks will be automatically added in the split list.
Export track information -
you can export the tracks in the split list to CUE (*.cue) file.
Click 'Save List' button, export the tracks in the split list to
the file you selected.

Split to Equal Segments |
|
|
MP3 Splitter can split MP3
to equal segments either by time or number of segments.
To split MP3 to equal segment, please click 'Split
Special'->'Split to Equal Segments'.
First, please choose the
range to apply: split the whole MP3 or only the selected
track to equal time segments. Then set the segment # or
time you'd like to split.
Click 'OK' when done,
tracks will automatically be added to the split list
according to your settings.

Split with Overlap |
|
|
You can add a
little overlap against either previous or next track.
'Backward Overlap'
means add overlap
against its previous track (add the last few seconds of
its previous track to the beginning of this track, e.g.
00:00 - 10:00, 9:55 -
15:00).
'Forward Overlap'
means add overlap
against its next track (append the first few seconds of
its next track to the end of the track, e.g.
10:00 - 15:00, 14:55 -
20:00).
To set overlap, please
click 'Split Special'->'Split with Overlap'.
First, please choose
the range to apply: apply overlap to the whole MP3 or
only the selected track. Then set backward or forward
overlap time value.
Click 'OK' when done If
you select the track which has overlap, 'FW overlapped'
or 'BW overlapped' will be shown in the track
information (above the split list box). You can also
view the overlap information by dragging to the end of
tracks in the split list.

Split with Different Mode |
|
|
MP3
Splitter provides two split
modes:
Fast Split Mode -
it is fast but sometimes the split
position might be a little bit difference than the
actual.
Frame Split Mode
- it is more accurate by reading MP3
frame by frame but
but it may take a few minutes to
load frames of a large file.
MP3
Splitter uses 'Auto. Detect'
mode by default, which will analysis the
MP3 file you just loaded and then
automatically select the best
split mode for you.
If you just want to quickly split
to some smaller pieces without much concern about the precision
of the split point, please select 'Fast Split Mode'.

Advance Way
to Locate, Update Split Points |
|
|
MP3 Splitter provides several
many useful ways to help you to locate/update the split time
points easily and quickly:
1. You can use following
keys to change the time value or move the slider bar
more easily:
Arrow Up/Down: move backward/forward by one STEP
unit
Page Up/Down: move backward/forward by one PAGE
unit
By click the
small button right near the time value box, you can set
the STEP & PAGE size in milliseconds. 2. Following playback control
can be used to help you to locate the split point
easily and quickly:
: Fast Forward, it provides
two playback
speed mode - x2, x4
: Play 2 seconds before
/ after the current position of the slider bar
3. Following controls can be
used to quickly set / update the start and end time position of the selected track:
: Set /
Update the BEGIN or END time of the selected track to the current time value
: Set the LENGTH of the selected track, much like 'set
end' but you can specify the length directly and no need to count the end time.

Create Naming Rule |
|
|
With naming rule, you can
control the way to naming the file name of split files. You can use following tags (case-sensitive) combined with text as the file
names for the generated split tracks:
%F: Name of source file
%S: Sequence number of in the split list
%T: Title of track
%A: Artist of track
%M: Album of track
%K: Track number (Track # in ID3 tag)
By default, the naming rule is
"%F-%S".

Edit ID3 TAG
Information of Split Tracks |
|
|
By default, each splitting sections you added
will have the same ID3 TAG information as your source MP3 file. Just
double-click the section you want to edit in the splitting list, a MP3 ID3 TAG
editor window will be lunched. You can use following wildcards (case-sensitive) combined with any text characters in ID3 tag field for the generated split
tracks:
- %S: Sequence number of tracks in the split
list
- %M: Album of track
- %K: Track number (Track# in ID3 tag)
For example, if you want the 'Title' of each track could automatically include the track number, you can append '%K' in 'Title' field; or if you want to name 'Track' automatically, you can fill '%S' in the 'Track' field.
